Induction Melting Furnace Melting Process

Induction Melting Furnace Melting Process

Detailed introduction to the melting process of induction furnace

The melting process of the induction furnace can be divided into two types: the alkaline crucible smelting method and the acidic crucible smelting method according to the characteristics of the crucible material used.

The alkaline crucible smelting method can be divided into two types: the melting method and the oxidation method.

The acid crucible smelting method is limited to the melting method.

Due to the low refractoriness of the crucible material, it is not possible to carry out oxidation smelting and partial alkali crucible smelting is the most commonly used smelting method. It can be used to smelt high-alloy steel, stainless steel plate, wear-resistant steel, tool and die steel, electric heating aluminum alloy, precision alloy, corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy, high-temperature alloy, and other types. The application range of the acid crucible smelting method is small, only limited to Smelting medium carbon steel, chromium manganese nitrogen wear-resistant steel, high-speed tool steel, high-carbon steel mold steel, wear-resistant steel, etc.

The smelted steel must have a high silicon content, without Al, Ti, B, Zr, and other easily oxidized elements. The alkaline crucible smelting method is a method of smelting in a crucible built with alkaline refractory materials or tied.

According to the different raw materials used, it is divided into three smelting methods: new material melting method, partial return material melting method, and oxidation method.

(1) New upgraded material melting method All returned waste materials are smelted with new material configuration. This type of induction furnace smelting method is suitable for the production of important, high-quality products. Because all the new materials are used and cannot be matched with the returned materials, the cost of raw materials is high, and the corresponding cost is relatively high.

(2) A part of the returned materials The seasoning for smelting by melting method is composed of new materials and returned materials. Among them, the structural characteristics and dosage of the returned material have a certain influence on the smelting quality of the product. The total number of returned materials should be effectively allocated according to the use of the equipment. The use of returned materials can recycle aluminum alloy elements to save energy and control costs.

(3) Oxidation smelting method The raw materials of the oxidation smelting method are mainly carbon scrap steel and alloy structural steel scrap. Smelting is carried out by blowing oxygen to boost melting during the melting period, blowing oxygen to reduce carbon after melting and restoring deamination.

The feature of this method is that it can recycle carbon waste steel and alloy structural steel waste steel. Suitable for smelting carbon steel castings, high alloy steel, and other types.

In addition, the oxidation method of induction melting furnace can be used to complete the dephosphorization and carburization of molten steel, and reduce the phosphorus and carbon components in the steel.
