Where Is Induction Furnace Used?

An induction furnace uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to heat metal, which belongs to a kind of non-contact inductive heating equipment in metal heating. Because of its fast heating speed, uniform heating temperature, energy-saving and environmental protection, easy operation, less oxidation loss, and wide application range are deeply loved by people in the metal heating industry. However, there are three different heating forms in the induction melting furnace: electric induction furnace metal heating, electrothern induction furnace metal melting, and induction furnace metal tempering. So, what are the differences among the three uses of induction melting furnaces?

1. Induction furnace metal heating

Induction melting furnace is often used for heating before forging, metal rolling, gear blank, connecting rod blank, shaft blank, plate blank, tube blank, etc; The heating temperature is generally less than 1250 degrees, and different heating power is selected according to the heating beat, heating temperature, and other parameters; The heated metal materials are alloy steel, aluminum alloy, copper alloy, stainless steel, titanium alloy, etc; The equipment is composed of automatic feeding system, medium frequency power supply, inductor, discharging system, temperature measuring system, cooling system, etc.

2. Induction furnace metal smelting

Induction melting furnace is often used for smelting scrap metals in the foundry industry. The melting temperature is 1700 degrees, and the power of the smelting furnace is determined according to the melting temperature, melting metal material and melting time; The smelting waste metal materials include alloy steel, aluminum alloy, stainless steel, copper alloy, gold, silver and other metal materials; The equipment consists of medium frequency power supply, smelting furnace body, tilting mechanism, induction coil, water cooling cable, capacitor cabinet and cooling system.

3. Inductionfurnace metal quenching and tempering

Induction melting furnace metal quenching and tempering is the application of the equipment in heat treatment heating. It is commonly used for metal quenching, tempering, annealing and normalizing heating. According to different heat treatment process requirements, it can be heated to different temperatures, equipped with a water spray cooling device or extended cooling time to meet the quenching and tempering process requirements. The heating temperature ranges from 100 ℃ to 1200 ℃, The quenched and tempered metal material is generally round steel alloy steel; The equipment consists of feeding mechanism, conveying mechanism, quenching heating system of foundry melting furnace, water spraying cold zone device, tempering heating system, discharging system, temperature measurement system, PLC control system, etc.

There are many kinds of induction furnace heating uses, but the subdivision is no more than the three types described above. These three uses of melting furnaces basically cover the heating range of the equipment. Therefore, it is particularly important to distinguish the uses of intermediate frequency furnaces when selecting medium frequency furnaces.
