Professional Operating Procedures for Centrifugal Pump Maintenance

Professional Operating Procedures for Centrifugal Pump Maintenance

Ensuring operational stability and equipment longevity in metallurgical facilities.

I. Pre-Operation and Startup Protocols

  • 1. Pressure Verification: Ensure inlet pressure is greater than 1 bar (100kpa/0.1Mpa) before operation.
  • 2. Power Check: Connect power and verify the motor rotation direction.
  • 3. Valve Inspection: Check the status of all valves (inlet/outlet/bypass).
  • 4. Filter Management: Open the bypass valve and slowly open the filter inlet valve.

II. Operational Monitoring

Continuous monitoring of mechanical components is vital to prevent failure. Adhere to the following temperature standards:

Bearing Type Allowable Temp Rise Maximum Temp
Sliding Bearing 45°C 70°C
Rolling Bearing 50°C 80°C

III. Maintenance and Lubrication Schedule

Lubricación: For new bearings with oil lubrication, replace oil after the first 1,000 horas (approx. 1.5 meses), then every 6 meses. For grease lubrication, replenish every 3-5 días.

Seal Inspection: Check the stuffing box for overheating. Normal flange leakage is 40-60 drops/min. Adjust or replace packing if abnormal.

IV. Critical Safety Rules

  • Motor starts must not exceed 3 consecutive times.
  • Stop immediately if smoke or fire is detected during startup.
  • Idling (running without water) must not exceed 3 minutos.
  • En ambientes helados, drain standby pumps and pipes to prevent damage.
