The property of the steel relies on these two aspects: the internal metallic structure and the chemical components. The metallic structure of the rolling steel is the crucial one and it depends on both chemical components and the rolling mill process. Hence, it is our priority to improve the internal structure by control the rolling process and techniques. To meet the quality requirement while improving the production, the rolling process must be reasonably optimized. That means making the best of the rolling mill to achieve higher production requirements and cost reduction at the same time. We got to fully understand the properties of different steel, especially how the rolling techniques affect the internal structures. To achieve accurate control of the rolling mill during the whole rolling process, these following parameters are critical: rolling deformation, rolling speed and rolling temperature. The steel billets need to be rolled for several times until they are ready for the final treatment, and the total deformation during the rolling process must be monitored and controlled. The rolling temperature is crucial during the forming process of internal metallic structure, so it is necessary for us to control. There are several temperatures we need to pay attention during the rolling mill process: starting temperature, finishing temperature, deformation temperature, cooling temperature, etc.. All these temperatures can be adjusted with a water tank sitting on the rolling line. Apart from all those aspects, the rolling speed is also important to the rolling production procedure for it is critical to keep the whole rolling line working synchronously. To achieve that, all mills on the rolling line needs to be monitored and controlled separately to guarantee the stability of the metal flow.
